Amy's senses were heightened in an experiment. They enlarged the region that the brain interprets the senses with. This heightened them so they are now inhuman. There were problems with this. The first one was quite obvious. Though Amy had never talked very much before, she now couldn't talk at all. When they had enlarged the region of the brain that interpreted senses, they had to change the enlarged part. This meant that what the enlarged part use to do, it didn't do anymore. This happened to be the area that controlled speech and sound. The effect was that she forgot how to talk and became mute. The second side effect appeared overtime. When put in a room where the senses are used a lot, like in a cafeteria where everyone is talking, her senses would go into overdrive. Amy wasn't used to how much her senses had improved so this would be too mush for her and freak her out. She has to go to therapy to learn how to talk again and to get used to her senses. There has been no improvement on either of the symptoms though. OCCUPATION. student ACTIVITIES. She used to be in the choir but can't because she can't talk anymore. PERSONALITY. Amy is a very innocent and childish girl. She loves to listen to music and wishes she could still sing. She doesn't like to be around very many people and would rather be alone. She wants to always help people in need because she knows what its like to need help. Amy has no idea what so ever as to how to swim. She avoids swimming and other activities that have to do with water. If she is put in a situation where she would have to swim, then she would run far away to avoid it. Amy listens to what others have to say but hardly ever tries to communicate back. She good at climbing trees and does this often. Its how she gets away from everyone. She doesn't care too much about school and would rather not go to it. She often will assess a situation before doing something but she never tries to communicate what she is going to do. Amy just does it. Her main way of communicating is with hand signals. This mainly doesn't work. She always forgets she can write down what she is trying to say. She likes shiny things a lot and also the stars. APPEARANCE. Amy is small for her age. People always think that she is younger then she really is. This doesn't bother her though. It makes it easier to hide. Amy has medium brown hair, It is fairly long and goes about 3in past her shoulders. Amy doesn't mind the school uniform and could care less about it. She has light blue eyes that seem to sparkle. She wears a necklace with an amulet at the end of it. You can always see her with it. Its her good luck charm. The amulet is just a small chain that has a fake gold ball at the end. HISTORY. Amy's parents were both well known thieves. They were very good at what they did and neither had been caught before. Like wise, they began to teach Amy how to be a thief. This was how Amy got her amulet. Her mother was on a nightly raid and she saw it. She thought that Amy would like it so she stole it. Amy has wore it ever sense. Amy never went to school. Whatever she learned was from her parents. They sold the stuff they stole at a black market in the city. The family made it by. Amy's parents were the best thieves in town. This was making them cocky and careless. One day when Amy was 7, her parents went on a nightly raid like they normally did. Except that night, they overestimated their abilities as thieves and underestimated the polices ability to find them. Amy didn't go with them that night. They were to meet up after the raid at a certian part in the alleys of the city. When Amy got there, only her parents were there. It looked like the raid had been successful. But then the police came. Amy did what her parents had always told her to do. If you see the police then hide. She ducked behind a trashcan in an alley. Her parents had no where to hid. The police surrounded them. Amy's mom had no interest ingoing in without at fight. She pulled out a gun. She was dead before you could blink. The police had shot her. Amy's dad pun around in shock. In that moment of hesitation, the police tazed him and handcuffed him. They then took him away. Amy had seen the whole thing. She later heard a rumor that her father had been sentenced to life in prison. It was no surprise but now Amy was all alone. She new a little about stealing but she wasn't very good at it. She didn't know anyone except the people that her parents traded with. They wouldn't help her. For a while, she just wondered around, looking for something to eat. There was no way she could survive alone. That was when Amy met Oran. Oran wasn't his real name, it was just a nickname Amy had come up with because it was easier to say then his real name. Oran's real name is Oetavian. I have no idea how she got Oran from Oetavian. They became quick friends. Oran knew a lot about how to care for himself even though he was only 16. He didn't live in the city though. He was also a thief but he lived in a farming town a few miles away. He had been forced to hide here because the police were looking for thieves in his town. Oran wasn't going stay in the city for long. For a thief though, Oran had a big heart. He helped Amy out. So when Oran was going back to the town, Amy went with him. The town was a lot different then the city. Instead of hiding in alleys and trash, you would hide in the trees and foliage. This is where Amy learned how to climb trees. It was the main way to steal here. Climb up a tree and grab what you could without being seen. The stolen food was hardly noticed. Amy learned that she was pretty good at climbing trees and strived to be as good as Oran. And she did become very good at tree climbing thanks to lots of practice. The people in the town also sang a lot. Amy learned here that she loved music and to sing. She had a good voice too. Amy also liked to go out in the middle of the night and look at all the stars. In the city, you couldn't see the stars so this was new and exciting to her. The stars never lost this quality about them. Amy was happy here living with her best friend. She learned the hard way that she couldn't swim no matter how anyone tried to teach her. After a while they just gave up. Oran's caring personality rubbed off on Amy a bit. She would help people she saw that needed help. She also remembered what it was like when Oran helped her. This was until some ansrc people came looking for students. Amy's beautiful voice and skill at climbing trees combined with the fact that she didn't have a family and was a thief made her the perfect person to take. They found her alone one day when she was on a raid by herself. She was stealing some apples from an apple tree. They grabbed her and forced her to come with them. She tried to fight back but she wasn't very good at fighting. She was late also. Becoming worried, Oran went out to look for her. By the time he got there, he could only see them drag her into a car before the car screeched off. He was too late to do anything. The day Amy arrived at ansrc, she was taken to the lab. She quickly learned that this wasn't a good thing. They enhanced her senses but she learned about the downfalls of this. She doesn't mind it all that much because she never really talked to people much anyway. Her only regret is that she can never again see her best friend and can never again sing. This doesn't stop her interest in music though. She still likes it very much. FAMILY.
